Goa is acclaimed for its infectious vibrancy. People from across the world want to come back to this state again and again, and experience the 'Goa' vivacity. Also, what is striking is that, there is a characteristic entrepreneurial streak in the people of Goa. I would say, that the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' inspires us. We align our goals with that of the Nation's, and move ahead with the mission of making India, the fastest growing economy with entrepreneurship being a huge driver of growth. On the front of entrepreneurship, while tourism reigns supreme, people are parallelly delving into other emerging areas and that gives me immense happiness. Afterall, entrepreneurship is critical for economic and technological growth of the State. The collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad to implement the Entrepreneurship Development Initiative in Goa, is effectively ensuring that the State witnesses a cohort of new entrepreneurs pioneering novel ideas and innovations.
After one year of the EDII Goa Centre, set up with the support of the Goa CSR Authority and the EDC Ltd., we witness entrepreneurship gaining progress across sections and sectors of people. I am sure, this entrepreneurial efficiency will continue to make Goa significantly contribute to the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. While I compliment the Institute for coming on board with us, I also extend my best wishes to the Goa CSR authority and the EDC Limited for partaking in this task.
My Compliments to EDC Ltd. for completing 50 years of commendable work and to the EDII Goa Centre for completing one year of significant work.!!!
There are miles to go!!!
Dr. Pramod Sawant
I congratulate EDII-Goa Centre for successfully completing one year of fruitful activities under the aegis of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII). Entrepreneurship plays a catalytic role in wealth creation by being a driving force for economic growth and innovation. The Central and the State Governments in India are actively instituting measures to empower both the existing as well the potential entrepreneurs. While enabling structures are important, skilled entrepreneurs also significantly leverage resources to launch sustainable enterprises. Individuals with a distinctive entrepreneurial spirit are noticeably different; they keenly see opportunities and harness the right resources to turn their ideas into viable businesses. These skills can be further honed through training and mentoring. In any country, state or region, a strong base for entrepreneurship and MSME growth is easy to establish if there is a synergy between competencies, institutional mechanisms, and government structures. Goa, in particular, holds the potential to become a buzzing hub of trade and commerce. While the existing MSMEs can provide an impetus to growth and sustainability, several potential entrepreneurs can be imparted requisite knowledge and skills to set up sustainable enterprises.
I commend the work of EDC Ltd. Towards analysing and promoting MSME sector and building a strong industrial foundation in the state. I congratulate them for completing 50 years of persistent work. My heartiest compliments. I again congratulate EDII in developing a dedicated centre in Panaji, Goa with the vision of transforming the state into one of the most entrepreneurship-friendly destination in India. The unwavering support extended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant ji’s towards this initiative is reassuring and highly appreciated. We look up to his leadership in fostering innovative startups and enterprises in niche segments in the times ahead.
Congratulations and Best Wishes!
Shri Rakesh Sharma
It is a momentous occasion for the EDC Ltd. We complete 50 glorious years and the resolve to continue contributing to the growth of MSMEs, entrepreneurs, startups and innovations remains strong. I express our sincere gratitude to our patrons, stakeholders and associates for their support. However, our work only gets critical from here as we take up new challenges to commit ourselves to bring about economic growth on the premise of entrepreneurship and innovations at par with global standards. We are glad, in this journey we have a partner – the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. Together, that is, EDII, Goa CSR Authority and EDC Ltd. are undertaking interventions that are novel, time-tested and rewarding. I am sure very soon the results will be for all to see.
Our missions are perfectly aligned and the EDII Goa Centre is propelling us towards our common goal. As the EDC Ltd. completes 50 years, the EDII Goa Centre completes one year. I compliment my team at EDC Ltd and the EDII team for designing activities very thoughtfully, after intense research so that the results are heartening and far reaching. And, rightly so, we can witness a notable wave of inclusive development in terms of skill and capacity building, entrepreneurship development training and empowerment across target groups. The entrepreneurial landscape of Goa is also optimistic and supportive. I am happy that we have got to function together towards a noble cause. We commit ourselves to the State mandates.
My compliments to my team and to EDII for glorious one year.

Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pramod Sawant ji for beckoning EDII to set up this Centre for promoting entrepreneurship in the state. The support extended by the EDC Limited and the Goa CSR authority is highly commendable. EDC Ltd completes 50 splendid years devoted to MSME growth and development, and on this occasion, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes for creating even brighter roads ahead.
One year back when we got the opportunity to set up EDII-Goa Entrepreneurship Development Centre, we knew this was a great opportunity to strengthen innovations, New Enterprise Creation and MSME growth, against the backdrop of the State’s favourable economic policies & reforms. Goa is acclaimed as a productive and prosperous state, and if EDII can add to its self-sufficiency, we would only be very glad. In the last one year, we have been able add pace to our journey, and I am sure, with the help of EDC Ltd, we will be able to undertake a series of well-meaning initiatives to ensure that Goa becomes a hub of entrepreneurship and innovations. This booklet reviews the past one year of the existence of EDII-Goa Entrepreneurship Development Centre. My Gratitude once again to Hon’ble Chief Minister Sir and EDC Ltd. For facilitating this process.
We look forward to yielding rewarding achievements!!!
