Program Overview

The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Goa, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, is organizing a 5-Day Training Program for Livelihood Cadres, at the Nalanda Conference Hall, EDC Complex, Dr. A.B. Road, Panjim, Goa. This program aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of livelihood consultants in the areas of entrepreneurship, rural enterprise development, and enterprise management.

Rationale

Livelihood Cadres play a pivotal role in facilitating and supporting entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. To fulfill their roles effectively, it is essential that these cadres possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship and village enterprise ecosystems.
  • Business acumen, including numerical and financial skills.
  • The ability to guide entrepreneurs in business planning, management, and performance tracking.

This 5-day training program is designed to equip Livelihood Cadres with the necessary skills to support rural enterprise development, foster entrepreneurial capabilities, and ensure the sustainability of village-level enterprises.

Key Deliverables

The program will focus on the following key areas:

  • Understanding Village Entrepreneurship Ecosystem: Introduction to the dynamics and scope of village-level entrepreneurship.
  • Entrepreneurship Concepts and Traits: Familiarization with the philosophy, traits, and essentials of becoming an entrepreneur.
  • Market Potential Studies: Appraisal of the conceptual framework and tools to assess market opportunities.
  • Soft Skills for Motivation and Problem-Solving: Techniques to mobilize, motivate, and engage potential entrepreneurs effectively.
  • Sub-Sector Enterprise Development: Identifying sub-sector opportunities, intervention points, and strategies for creating value chain-based enterprises.
  • Enterprise Management Skills: Training in essential business management areas, including finance, performance tracking, marketing, bookkeeping, and growth strategies.
